Sandburg’s Annual Fall Craft Show: A Midwest Holiday Tradition

Carl Sandburg High School Athletic Boosters craft show continues to draw vendors and shoppers for over 20 years.

With the holidays just around the corner, the Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster Club is proud to host their annual Fall Craft Show Nov. 23 & 24 at Carl Sandburg High School. The show will feature over 350 booths that offer a variety of items for shoppers to browse and purchase.

For over 20 years, Carl Sandburg High School has proudly hosted what has become the Midwest’s largest indoor craft show, drawing thousands of holiday shoppers and artisans to Orland Park each year. Organized by the Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster Club, this beloved event offers over 350 booths of handcrafted, unique items—from artisan woodwork and holiday décor to mouthwatering treats, candles, and more.

Under the leadership of show coordinators Jennifer Farley and Jan Lang, who have been at the helm for the past five years, the craft show has evolved into a must-see event in the Chicago suburbs.

"We’ve built close relationships with our vendors over the years," says Farley. "Each one of them brings something special to the event. They’re incredibly talented photographers, designers, knitters, potters, glass blowers, crocheters, bakers, artists, and woodworking professionals. It’s an honor to support them as they share their craft with the community." She adds, “We want to support our vendors and encourage our community to discover these small business owners.”

This event is made possible by the dedicated efforts of the Sandburg Athletic Booster Club, a group filled with compassionate parent volunteers, school administration, and a Board of Directors who guide the event's planning throughout the year. Each year, over 500 student-athletes and parent volunteers come together to bring the event to life, transforming the space into a festive marketplace for the community.

The proceeds from this event directly benefit Sandburg’s Athletic Department. The funds provide essential support for the school’s athletic programs, enhancing facilities, purchasing equipment, and providing scholarship opportunities for student-athletes.

This year’s craft show will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, and Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Admission is $5 per person each day, with free entry for children under 12.

Parking is first come first serve in the Sandburg lot, with a dedicated Handicap parking lot on the North Entrance, enter at LaGrange Rd. Satellite parking is available at the UChicago Medicine garage at LaGrange Road and 143rd Street, as well as Palos South Middle School on 82nd Avenue, with shuttle service provided.

Visit the show for a weekend of unique finds, holiday cheer, and community spirit. Help support Sandburg Athletics and keep this cherished tradition alive—celebrating local artisans, supporting student-athletes, and sharing the joy of the season.
