The IHSA Student Advisory Committee is a group of students who participate in diverse interscholastic athletics and activities. The SAC promotes the sportsmanship and integrity ideals of the Illinois High School Association. We are focused on providing leadership and communication between participants, administrators, and fans of IHSA activities. During meetings we communicate information about athletics to the Board of Directors and staff. We make recommendations for changes in policy, administration, and terms and conditions. Our recommendations are reviewed by the IHSA staff and then either approved or rejected by the Board of Directors.

The IHSA Student Advisory Committee gives students a chance to build leadership skills while supporting fairness and sportsmanship in school activities. It also helps students learn teamwork, communication, and responsibility through real involvement in decision-making. Experiences like these can later stand out when working with cv specialists to prepare for future academic or career opportunities.
